Description	:	Funeral services for Marvin Cassell were held Wednesday afternoon in the Nelson Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Lyle Graff officiating. Military graveside services in the Nelson cemetery (sic) were conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Marvin Cassell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Cassell, was born near Edgar, Nebr., April 9, 1913, and departed this life after a short serious illness at the Grand Island Veterans hospital (sic) Febr. 24, 1962, at the age of 48 years, 10 months and 15 days. Marvin Cassell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Cassell, was born near Edgar, Nebr., April 9, 1913, and departed this life after a short serious illness at the Grand Island Veterans hospital (sic) Febr. 24, 1962, at the age of 48 years, 10 months and 15 days. His childhood days were spent in the Edgar vicinity. He was engaged in farming with his brother Roy when called to the Army Sept. 24, 1942. He spent 29 months overseas in active duty, from which he was discharged Nov. 2, 1945. He then took up his farming again near Nelson. He was united in marriage to Fern Sell Febr. 16, 1950. To this union was born one son, Donald. He was a loving and devoted father to two step-sons, Charles and Robert Sell. He was a member of the Nelson Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his father in 1952. He is survived by his wife Fern, the three sons, his mother, Martha Cassell of Nelson, five brothers, Gaylord and Ralph of Denver, Colo., Howard and Vernon of Washington state, and Roy of Nelson, three sisters, Cleo Lambert of Lincoln, Helen Haidsiak of Nelson and Merna Buresh of Davenport and many nieces and nephews whom he enjoyed so much. The casketbearers were Clayton Johnston, Harold Runge, Bill Jones, Ed Mueller, John Reiman and John Bauman. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, March 1, 1962
