Description	:	MARVIN C. BLOHM CENTER JCT. - The funeral of Marvin C. Blohm, 62, was held Dec. 18 at Wayne Zion Lutheran church, rural Monticello, with Rev. Harvey O. Gilbertson officiating. Interment with military honors was in the church cemetery. Mr. Blohm died early Wednesday morning, Dec. 15, at John McDonald hospital, Monticello. He was born Sept. 29,1914 near Center Jct., son of Fred and Sophia Christiansen Blohm. Interment with military honors was in the church cemetery. Mr. Blohm died early Wednesday morning, Dec. 15, at John McDonald hospital, Monticello. He was born Sept. 29,1914 near Center Jct., son of Fred and Sophia Christiansen Blohm. He received his early education in the schools of Jones county and graduated from Center Jct. high school in 1931. He attended Lenox college in Hopkinton. He was married to Selena Otten Sept. 23, 1942. He served three years in the U. S. Army during World War II and since his discharge in 1945 had farmed in the Center Jct. area. He was Iowa state corn picking champion for a number of years and was national Champion one year. He was a member of Wayne Zion Lutheran church and Anamosa VFW. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Dan (Julia Ann) Berchenbriter, Cedar Rapids; his mother, Mrs. Edith Blohm, Martelle; four sisters, Mrs. Freida Martens of Center Jet., Mrs. Paul Brokaw of Monticello, Mrs.Lucille Freese of Alburnett and Mrs. Arthur Hinrichs of Martelle. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother. Casket bearers were Merle Husmann, William Wessels, Raymond Antons, Gary Catlett, John H. Dirks and Willis Zimmerman.
