Frey, of Milford, died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Bryan LGH West Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 74 years 8 months and 9 days. Marvin was born November 20, 1929, on a farm near Lyons, Nebraska to Charles & Ilene (Craig) Frey, the 3rd of four children As a young boy, Marvin attended Lyons Public Schools, graduating in 1947. After graduation, Marvin moved to Albany, New York where he was employed with the New York Central Railroad. He soon enlisted into the US Army and was instructed in radio operations at a communications school in Japan as a Corporal in Korea during the Korean War. After his discharge, he was united in marriage to Edna "Sue" Gage in Omaha, Nebraska on July 8, 1953 and to this union two children were born, Mark and Cathy After their marriage, they lived in Creston and Council Bluffs Iowa before moving to Milford in 1971. Marvin was employed by the Burlington Northern Railroad, where he was a printer operator and later worked in the payroll department, retiring on October31, 1991. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #171, both of Milford and was a former member of the American Legion Post #3, Lincoln. Marvin had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, for which he had special nicknames. He also enjoyed woodworking, making several toys for the grandkids to enjoy. He loved to crochet tablecloths and donated his work to the heart association. He kept busy with crossword puzzles, watching TV and reading. He also had fun camping with his family. He is survived by his wife Edna "Sue"; son and daughter-in- law, Mark and Lorna Frey; daughter, Cathy Frey, all of Milford; grandchildren, Colby, Brandy, Ryne, and Trey Frey, all Milford; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Elaine Frey, Bellevue, Robert and Maria Frey, Highland, CA; sister-in-law, Waneta Frey, Lyons; several nieces and nephews and a number of other relatives and friends. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ilene Frey and a brother, Kenneth.
