Description	:	Marvin Delmer Criss, 78, Macdoel, Calif., died July 19, 1997, in Klamath Falls. He was born in Lookout, Calif to Author and Maggie (Duncan) Criss. He attended schools in Malin and Tulelake, graduating from Butte Valley High School in 1938. He joined the Navy and served in the South Pacific during World War II. After being honorably discharged from the service he came home to work on the family ranch. In 1948, he won a homestead in Tulelake and married Patricia Lynch. His brother, Arnold, and his mother helped him operate the ranch which later became known as Criss Bros.... Read More	Marvin Delmer Criss, 78, Macdoel, Calif., died July 19, 1997, in Klamath Falls. He was born in Lookout, Calif to Author and Maggie (Duncan) Criss. He attended schools in Malin and Tulelake, graduating from Butte Valley High School in 1938. Later they raised cattle, hay and grain. He was involved in his community and served as a school board member for Macdoel Elementary School and as the board director of the Butte Valley Irrigation. Mr. Criss also served in local, county and state Cattlemen's Associations. In 1979, he was awarded the Siskiyou County Cattlemen of the Year award. He was also involved in the Dorris Lions Club and participated in 4-H with his children. He is survived by his wife, Pat Criss of Macdoel; daughter and son-in-law, Lou Ann and Marty Heim, Merrill; sons and daughter-in-law, Buster and Wayne Criss, Macdoel, and Author and Pam Criss, Redmond; grandchildren, John, Ruth Ann and Katie Heim, Stacey, Cody, Kurtis and Kyle Criss; brother, LelandCriss, Standish, Calif.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie and Archie Tharp, Macdoel, Bernice and Jim Heatherwick, Alturas, Calif., and Dollie Thompson, San Francisco, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Arnold and Donnie Criss. Herald and News July 1997
