Description	:	Marvin E. Jeske, 93, of Eldora, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, at Valley View Nursing Center in Eldora. Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 23 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora, with Pastor David Splett officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memory Garden, Eldora. Memorials may be directed to the Good Shepherd Pre-School. Marvin was born May 15, 1907, in Pleasant Township in Hardin County, to Emil and Marie Panthen Jeske. He attended Pleasant No. 7 Country School and farmed with his parents until his marriage to Jenny Meints on June 1, 1936. He took over the family farm and lived there for 87 years. He had also worked part-time for the Lawn Hill Sale Barn and Farmer's Auction Market in Eldora. He was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Pleasant Township Farm Bureau. He loved children and proudly wore his "#1 Grandpa" cap wherever he went. He is survived by two sons, Loren and wife, Judy, of Eldora, and Melvin and wife, Becky, of Pratt, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jenny, in 1982; five sisters, Martha Struck, Rose Jeske, Alma Wilson, Esther Blome, and Frieda Freese; and three brothers, Otto, Oscar, and Walter Jeske. Creps-Abels Funeral home of Eldora is in charge of arrangements.
