Wymore Arbor State 12 January 1995 Marvin G. Sutter Marvin G. Sutter, of Wymore, died unexpectedly Sunday, 1 January 1995 at the Community Memorial Hospital at Marysville, Kansas. He was born 20 February 1914 on a farm near Liberty. He spent his childhood in that area and was a 1931 graduate of Liberty High School. He attended the University of Nebraska for one year. He married MIldred Rhine on 20 February 1937 at Liberty. He was a lifelong farmer and lived near Liberty until 1969 when he moved to Wymore. He married Dorothy Hughes Ellis on 30 March 1982 at the Church of the Brethren at Holmesville. He returned to Wymore in 1989. He was a member of the Wymore United Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and a member of the Mariners. He was a past member and elder of First Presbyterian church of Beatrice. Hee was a member of Barneton Lodge #165, A.F.&A.M. at Barneston, Violet Chapter #105, Order of Eastern Star at Wymore, and was a past patron of Loyal Chapter at Liberty. He was a member of Farmers Union Co-op at Blue Springs, and was a past member of Elks Lodge #619 at Beatrice. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, son Ronald Sutter and his wife, Bonnie, of Beatrice; daughter Marlene Snyder and her husband, Lee of Beatrice, two stepsons, Marvin Ellis and his wife, Lorie of Beatrice, and John Ellis and his wife, Ana Liaz of Stillwater, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Jason Sutter and his wife Gail; Jill Zimmerman and her husband Kent; Jarod Sutter and Kevin Brubaker, all of Beatrice; a greatgranddaughter, Neely Sutter of Beatrice; two step-grandchildren, Holly and Tyler Ellis, both of Beatrice; two brothers, William Sutter and his wife Doris of York; and Merle ?Jim? Sutter of Beatrice. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Enna (Mount); by his first wife, Mildred, on 6 September 1980, daughter Janet, son Marvin, son-in-law Steve Brubaker, sister Florence Holmbeck. Organist was Wilma Synder and soloist was John Snyder. Casket bearers were his grandchildren, Jason and Gail Sutter, Jill and Kent Zimmerman, Jarod Sutter and Kevin Brubaker. Honorary bearers were his step-grandchildren, Holly and Tyler Ellis. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday 4 January 1995 at the Wymore United Presbyterian Church, Pastor Ron Drury officiating. Burial was in the Liberty cemetery. memorial to the church and the Wymore Rescue Unit with Themal Brownswell and Hael and Ellsworth Closs in charge. Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home, Wymore, was in charge of arrangements. |
