Description	:	Marvin Laughlin Marvin Hugh Laughlin, the son of Hugh and Nola McGill Laughlin, was born May 19, 1883, in the southern part of Jefferson County, and departed this life on June 7, 1953, at the age of 70 years and 18 days, at his home in Marshalltown, Iowa, where he had lived the past eight years. Read More	Marvin Laughlin Marvin Hugh Laughlin, the son of Hugh and Nola McGill Laughlin, was born May 19, 1883, in the southern part of Jefferson County, and departed this life on June 7, 1953, at the age of 70 years and 18 days, at his home in Marshalltown, Iowa, where he had lived the past eight years. He was raised in Van Buren County near Douds and spent most of his life in farming. He was married to Emily Ferrel on December 24, 1913, and to this union three children were born, all surviving. Mrs. Laughlin died July 19, 1942. On December 30, 1944, he married Mrs. Etta Wilson of Marshalltown. Surviving are his wife, three children, Mrs. Viola Hedger of Packwood, Iowa, Vergil of Ft. Worth, Tex., and Mrs. Violet King of Springdale, Ark.; three grandchildren; three step-daughters, Mrs. Norene Rhinehart, Mrs. Charlotte Barnard, Mrs. Patricia Bloomquist, all of Marshalltown, and four step-grandchildren. Three brothers also survive: Howard of Capulin, N. Mex., Leonard of Douds, and Harold of Batavia, Iowa. A sister, Mrs. Mabel Dunshee and one brother, Lester, preceded him in death. Funeral services at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 10 at Mt. Moriah church. In charge of Rev. Robt. G. Farr. Interment in Mt. Moriah cemetery. **Handwritten: 1953 Source: Van Buren Co.
