Rev Lyle Miller officiated and burial was in the Canova Cemetery. Marvin J. Duxbury, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Duxbury, was born March 24, 1886 near Canova, SD. He grew to manhood in this area, and he was united in marriage to Mathilda Gough at Canova on Oct 23, 1912. Rev Lyle Miller officiated and burial was in the Canova Cemetery. Marvin J. Duxbury, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Duxbury, was born March 24, 1886 near Canova, SD. He grew to manhood in this area, and he was united in marriage to Mathilda Gough at Canova on Oct 23, 1912. Following their marriage, they farmed near Canova until 1927 when they moved to a farm near Salem, SD. They farmed in the Salem area until 1953 when they retired and moved into Salem city. In march of 1967 they moved into Colonial Manors Nursing Home at Salem. They were the first residents of Colonial Manors. Mr. Duxbury passed away at a Sioux Falls hospital on Nov. 22, 1974. He is survived by his wife of Salem; five daughters: Ida, Mrs. Melvin Sabers; Eva, Mrs. Merle Breneman, both of Salem, SD; Ellys, Mrs. Alvin Blankartz of Ft Pierre, SD; Ruth, Mrs. Le Roy Kelley of Sioux Falls, SD; and Faye, Mrs. Burt Fenstermaker of Hisperia, Calif.; one son, Marcus Duxbury, also of Salem, SD; one brother, Elwood Duxbury, Hurley, SD; one sister, Edna Forsberg of San Bernadino, Calif.; 25 grand children, 20 great grand children. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers
