Description	:	Hoven Review, July 2, 1959. Funeral services for Mrs. Nick (Mary) Mellenbach were held from St. Anthony's Church here Tues. June 23, Rev. Fr. Wm Schmitt officiating. Burial was in the church emetery. Five grandsons of the deceased served mass. Mrs. Mellenbach who had attained the age of 78 years, 10 months and one day, died at her home Sat. June 20, at 9:55 a.m. after a long illness. Hnorary pallbearers were Mrs. Susan Gaden, Mrs. Mary Hoven, Mrs. Lena Hericks, Mrs. Barbara Kaiser, Mrs. Eva Goebel and Mrs. Rose Zweber. Born to Peter and Margaret Abler in Calvary WI, Aug. 19, 1880, she came to South Dakota at the age of 7. On Feb. 22, 1906, she married Nick Mellenbach in St. Bernard's church in HOven. Four children were born to this union. A son, Leom, died in 1927. She was a member of the Lady Foresters and the Altar Society. Survivors besides her husband Nick, are three daughters, Mrs. Leonella Nelson, Montevideo MN, Mrs. Mildred Kaiser and Mrs. Regina (A.J.) Hericks, Hoven; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Carl of Hoven and Nick of Fond du Lac WI. Preceding her in death were her parents; one son; four brothers, Anton, Joe, John and Matt; tthree sisters, Katherine Yeoman, Elizabeth Rogers and Ann Dreis. Out-of-town relatives here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Nelson, Phyllis and Leon, Montevideo MN; Mr. and Mrs. Nick Abler, Fond du Lac WI, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Abler, Royal IA; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Dreis, Rapid City; Mr. and Mrs. Biesen, Austin MN; Mrs. Gilbert Heimer and Shelly, Joe Mullenbach, Isidor Freund and Herbert Landhur of Johnsburg and Adams MN; Mr. and Mrs. John Mullenbach and Margaret Smith of Johnsburg MN; Mrs. Mary Abler and Clara, Mamie Klen and Frances Yeoman of Aberdeen; Mrs. Catherine Timp. Mrs Ellen Anderson and Jay, Gettysburg; Mrs. Dennis Ondricek and Shirley of Lebanon.
