Thurs. 20 Mar 1890 Died: COOK–In Sheridan township, March 7th, 1890, Mrs. M.A.Cook wife of W.D.Cook, aged 43 years, 9 months, and 3 days. She was born in Peoria, Ill, in 1846 and came to Kansas with her husband in 1867, locating on the same farm where she died. She was a good and patient wife and a loving mother. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. A.W.Wright of Cherokee, at the late residence, and the procession that followed the remains to the tomb was the largest ever known... She had been in delicate health for about thirteen years having hemorrhage of the lungs, and could not survive an attack of la grippe.
