Description	:	Mary A. Shanstrom, 92, of Fairfield died at 8:07 pm Monday Dec. 9, 2013 at Parkview Care Center, Fairfield. She was born May 21, 1921 in rural Batavia to William Earl and Flossie Knox Crawford and married Richard R. Shanstrom March 9, 1940 in Des Moines. He died March 20, 1982. They farmed in Jefferson County and lived several years in Libertyville. She moved to Fairfield following her husbands death. She was a member of faith United Methodist Church, Libertyville and Libertyville Travelers Club. Surviving are two sons, Gifford Shanstrom(Donna Miles)of Fairfield and Gayle Shanstrom(Kathy)of Cedar Rapids, a daughter, Shirley Diamond of Mt. Pleasant, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and three sisters, Ila Mae Bradshaw(Merl)of Firfield, Virginia Conn of Eugene, OR and Lucille Davis of Grinnell. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by parents, a son, Gary Shanstrom, a great-granddaughter, Barbie Shanstrom and three brothers, Wayne, Bud and Bill Crawford and a sister, Maureen Hogan. Funeral services willl be at 10:30 am Friday Dec. 13, 2013 in Faith United Methodist Church, Libertyville, Rev. Bill Morehouse officiating. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery, rural Libertyville. Visitation will be open 2-7 pm Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds. Memorials to Alzheimer's Association may be left at the funeral home or church or mailed to the family at 200 North 28 th St., Lot 94, Fairfield, IA 53556.
