Daggett, 249 South Ward street, Thursday, at 8:15 p.m. She was the daughter of David and Nancy Jane Landes and was born in Des Moines [sic-should be Des Moines County], August 5, 1856. Daggett, 249 South Ward street, Thursday, at 8:15 p.m. She was the daughter of David and Nancy Jane Landes and was born in Des Moines [sic-should be Des Moines County], August 5, 1856. She came to Ottumwa 42 years ago and lived here since. She was married to Marion Vance March 5, 1876, near Danville. He died in 1881. She was married to Zachary Taylor Tinsley October 5, 1887. He died September 29, 1935. She was a member of the Finley Avenue Baptist church for approximately 40 years. Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Daggett; sons, Ross L. Vance and Lloyd L. Tinsley of Ottumwa and Earl F. Tinsley of Leon; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Finley Avenue Baptist church, conducted by the Rev. V.L. Currier, pastor. Burial will be in Blakeway cemetery, near Danville. Grandsons and nephews will act as pallbearers. The body will remain at Johnson’s funeral chapel until Sunday, when the casket will be taken to the church. It will not be opened after services. Funeral Service Notice From “Ottumwa Courier,” December 2, 1939: Services for Mrs. Mary A. Tinsley, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Earl S. Daggett, 249 South Ward street, Thursday, will be Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Finley Avenue Baptist church, conducted by the Rev. V.L. Currier. Burial will be in Blakeway cemetery, near Danville.
