TINSLEY IS CALLED SUNDAY Veteran Retired Morrell Packing Company Employe Dies At 12:45 P.M. Zachary Taylor Tinsley, 85, who retired from John Morrell & Co. in May, 1924, after nearly a quarter of a century service, died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl S. Daggett, 249 S. Ward street,, Sunday at 12:15 p.m. He had been ill for some time. Mr. Tinsley was the son of Claybourn [sic] and Mary Tinsley and was born in Brookville, near Abingdon, March 19, 1850. He came to Ottumwa thirty-eight years ago and has lived here since. In 1887, he was married to Mary A. Landes Vance of Danville. He worked for the C. B. & Q. railroad for three years and then entered the employe of John Morrell and Co. in October, 1900, where he was for many years in charge of sausage cooking. He was a member of the Finley Avenue Baptist church. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Earl F. and Lloyd L. Tinsley, both of Ottumwa; one daughter, Mrs. Clara M. Tinsley Daggett of Ottumwa; a stepson, Ross L. Vance of Ottumwa; nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Short funeral services will be held at the Johnson funeral chapel at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and at 9 a.m. at the Finley Avenue Baptist church, conducted by the Rev. U. V. White assisted by the Rev. Luther Childs of Centerville. Burial be made in Blakeway cemetery near Danville.
