Description	:	Mary A. McDonnell, 95, of Sterling died May 23, 1996, in Sterling. Visitation and viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, May 27 at Chaney-Walters Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 1 p.m Tues day at Chaney-Walters with the Rev. Henry Schott officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Ceme tery. Burial will be at Riverside Ceme tery. Mrs. McDonnell was born May 19, 1901, to Frank and Gertrude (Miller) Loudy at Cairo, Hall County, Neb. She traveled with her family in an immigrant car on the railroad to Sidney, Neb., about 1910. She lived near Sidney and received her education there, grad uating from the eighth grade in Sidney. She married John McDonnell in 1919 in Sidney. They lived in the Crook and Proctor areas until 1962, when they moved to Ster ling. She spent many years raising turkeys and chickens and attending to other farm tasks. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and baking. Mrs. McDonnell is survived by two daughters, Lucile and husband Bob LeBlanc of Crook, and Ellen and husband Vernon Mellott of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a son Earl and wife Marge of Lakewod; a daughter-in-law, Helen McDonnell of Sterling; 24 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984, a son Lawrence, an infant daughter Bessie, a brother and two sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to the Crook Historical Soci ety or to a charity of the donor's choice.
