Description	:	Larry J. McDonnell, 73, of Ster ling, died Monday, June 7, 1993 in Sterling. Visitation and viewing will begin 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 9 at the Chaney-Walters Funeral Home chapel. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 10, at Chaney-Walters Funeral Home with burial at Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Henry Schott will officiate. Mr. McDonnell was born March 21, 1920 in Crook to John E. and Mary A. Loudy McDonnell. He was raised in Crook, where he received his schooling and graduated in 1937. Mr. McDonnell was born March 21, 1920 in Crook to John E. and Mary A. Loudy McDonnell. He was raised in Crook, where he received his schooling and graduated in 1937. He attended business school in Denver, returning to Proctor where he farmed. He worked at the Mobile Service Station in Proctor in 1940. He married Helen E. Waltz May 19, 1940 in Crook. They moved to Denver after the wedding. He worked at the Defense Plant in 1943, then moved back to Crook where he farmed until March 1945. He then entered the U.S. Army, serving until March 1946. After his discharge from the Army, he bought a farm north of Iliff, where he farmed until 1955. He then moved to Iliff to be the manager of the Iliff Lumber Co. until 1965. They then moved back to Denver, where he worked for the Sterling Lumber and Investment Co. until 1980. They then moved back to Sterling where he retired. During his retirement, he worked at Logan County Lumber, Sterling Lumber and Field's Hardware through May 1991. He was a previous member of the Iliff Lions Club and was of the protestant faith. He is survived by his mother, Mary McDonnell of Sterling, wife Helen of Sterling; children Kenton and wife Donna McDonnell of Omaha, Neb., Connie and husband Ron Charles of Sterling, Jo Huey of Denver, Jerry and wife Jo McDonnell of Fort Collins; sisters Lucille and husband Robert LeBlanc of Crook and Ellen and husband Vernon Mellott of Cheyenne, Wyo.; brother Earl and wife Marge Mc Donnell of Denver; 13 grandchil dren and 10 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Larry McDonnell Memorial Fund.
