She stated that her father, Roswell Payne, was born in Vermont, probably in Windsor; her mother was born in Vermont near Lake Champlaine. She was the widow of Andrew Frank Morris, who died in 1867. She stated that her father, Roswell Payne, was born in Vermont, probably in Windsor; her mother was born in Vermont near Lake Champlaine. She was the widow of Andrew Frank Morris, who died in 1867. The couple had married on December 10, 1861 at Delphis, Ohio. Mr. Morris had served in the Civil War as a Private from June 1861. He died from "Cold and rupture" according to his widow. They had one child, Frances Morris, who resided in Dillon, Montana in 1919. She remarried to Henry L. Freeby, who died on October 23, 1918 in Ritzville, Washington. They had married December 10, 1869 in Ottawa, Delphis, Ohio. Her second husband was also a civil war veteran, having been a member of W. B. Hazen Post, No. 46. Mr. Freeby had enlisted at Pittsburg on June 17, 1863 and served with Company "F", 1st Battalion Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry. He was discharged on December 24, 1863. He enlisted again on January 19, 1864 at Lynchburg, Virginia; served with Company "C", 4th Regular Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry; and was discharged on July 1, 1865 as a private. They had one child, Charles H. Freeby, who resided in Ritzville in 1919. Mrs. Freeby was admitted to the Washington Veterans' Home at Retsil on June 12, 1919. Her widow's pension was on Certificate 1131,827. She passed away October 2, 1920 at the Veterans' Home and is buried in the Home Cemetery.
