P. R. CRUM DEAD AT 90 FORMER CARTHAGE WOMAN ILL ONLY SHORT TIME Services Monday at Home in Webb City With Burial at Faskem Cemetery Mrs. Mary Ann Crum, 90, widow of P. R. Crum, and former Carthage resident, died at 6:45 o'clock last night at her home in Webb City. She was ill only a short time. Mrs. Crum was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Orr and when she years old she and her parents embarked on a boat at Giandot, W. Va., coming down the Ohio River to Cincinnati, Ohio and thence to St. Louis and up the Missouri River to what is known as Sandy Hook. Her father entered government land in Moniteau county, near California, MO., where she grew to womanhood. In November 1866 she was married to Reed Crum and to this union 11 children were born, two of whom passed away in infancy. Surviving Mrs. Crum are the following children: Charles Crum of Hope, KS., Tyree Crum and Mrs. Mary Mann of Carthage, Stephen Crum of Webb City. John Crum of Martin, IL., and Mrs. Bertha Mannen of Waltonville, IL ad Mrs. Dora Walker of Auburn, Nebraska. A son, William Harrison Crum, who at one time was pastor of the Central Methodist Episcopal church at Webb City, passed away December 27, 1917. Twenty-three grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Crum united with the Cumberland Presbyterian church early in life. At the time of his death she was a member of Central M. E. Church in Webb City. She was a kind and loving mother, no task or sacrifice being too great for her children. She also was a loyal neighbor, always ready to offer assistance in time of need. She was fond of children and devoted to her friends. For a number of years Mr. and Mrs. Crum lived in Carthage. The had many friends here. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Crum Home, 302 North Madison street, Webb City. Burial will be in Fasken Cemetery, northeast of Carthage.
