She graduated from Clifton High School. She married LaVerne Peterson on Aug. 29, 1943 in Clifton, he preceded her on May 28, 2010. They lived on a farm near Palmer until moving to Clifton, where Mary worked for Turner Furniture Store & Funeral Home. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Clay Center and the American Legion Post #227 Auxiliary, Clifton. Mary enjoyed crocheting, quilting, collecting Precious Moment figurines and a host of craft projects, but her passion was her family and their time together. She is survived by her sons, Ronald Peterson (Martha), Bellevue, NE & Steven Peterson (Tina), McPherson; brother in law, Marlin Peterson (Brenda), Clay Center; sister in law, Maxine Peterson, Clay Center; 5 grandchildren & their spouses & 20 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, LaVerne; her parents, Samuel & Lydia; her sister, Marian & brothers, Lauren, Frederick & Lloyd Rundle. Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Wed., Jan. 21, 2015 at United Methodist Church, Clay Center. The family will greet friends from 9:30-10:30 am, Wed at the church. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center. Visitation will be from 1-7 pm, Tues., Jan. 20, 2015 at Chaput Mortuary, Clyde.
