GIDDINGS DEAD AT BURNT MILLS - Wife of Merchant Was Daughter of Ex-Sheriff - Services Set at Fairland Tomorrow BURNT MILLS, Md, September 29 - Mrs. Mary Adelaide Giddings, 66, resident of this community for many years, died yesterday at her home here after a long illness. A native of Burtonsville, Md., Mrs. Giddings was the daughter of the late Thomas Waters, at one time sheriff and a former member of the House of Delegates from Montgomery County, and the late Martha Dawson Waters. She spent the early part of her married life in Washington and had lived at Burnt Mills for the last 23 years, where Mr. Giddings conducted a general store. She was a member of Janet Montgomery Chapter D.A.R., and of St Mark's Guild in aFirland (sic - Fairland), taking an active part in church work until her health became poor some years ago. Besides her husband, William Johnson Giddings, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Susan D. Clark of Bethesda, Md.; a son, William Campbell Giddings of Silver Spring, Md.; three brothers, Walter Waters and Frederick Waters, both of Silver Spring, and Robert Waters of California, and a sister, also living in California. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 3 p.m at St Mark's Episcopal Church, Fairland. Interment will be in the church cemetery."
