Burial was made in Holyoke cemetery where the Navy Mothers Club No. 406 held a service at the grave. Medinger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nichols [Nicholas] Medinger was born August 22, 1895 at David City, Nebraska and parted from this life on October 23, 1945, at the age of 50 years, two months and one day. She was united in marriage to John Ortner at Cedar Rapids, Nebraska and to this union were born three sons and five daughters, all of whom except one son, who died in 1923, survive their mother, whose loss they mourn. In 1919 Mr. and Mrs. Ortner moved to Phillips County and have engaged in farming until the present time. Surviving the deceased are, Second Lieutenant Margaret Ortner, Joseph Ortner, 2/c U.S.N.R., Marie Catherine, Dorothy Helen and John R., children of Mr. and Mrs. Ortner; Margaret Medinger, her mother of David City, Nebraska; Mrs. Charles White, David City, a sister; John Medinger, Cedar Rapids, a brother; Pete Medinger, David City, a brother; Adolph Medinger, U.S. Army in the Pacific, a brother; and Mrs. Elizabeth Seagle, Waynesville Missouri, a sister. Of the relatives named above all attended the funeral except John Medinger and Mrs. Seagle. There were also here for the funeral, C.J. Schmit of Greeley, Colorado and Leo Schmit of David City, uncles of the deceased; Pete Medinger of David City, a cousin; Jacob Schmit of Greeley, and uncle and Mr. and Mrs. Charles White of David City, Nebraska.
