Mary Aleen Wethington was born January 4, 1920 in Casey County, Clementsville, Kentucky, the daughter of Harry and Ollie (Clements) Wethington. She moved to Iowa in 1921, with her parents and two older sisters, Bessie and Lucile, so her dad could help his brother farm. In Iowa, two sons joined the family, Russell and Bob. Aleen remained in Cedar County the rest of her life. Aleen graduated from Tipton High School in 1938. She married Donald A. Driscoll on February 11, 1942. Together they had six children: John, Joan, Harry, Donna, Kevin and Dan. She was a homemaker and mother for many years. Later, she worked at The Pioneer Press for 15 years, retiring in 1976. Aleen was a member of St. Mary's Guild, Bridge Clubs, Pinochle Clubs, and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mechanicsville. Aleen's family was very important to her and she had great love for them all. Aleen is survived by one daughter, Donna (Wayne) Robinson of Mechanicsville; three sons, Harry (Marcia) Driscoll of Mechanicsville, Kevin (Marcia) Driscoll of Mt. Vernon, and Dan (Diana) Driscoll of Mechanicsville; one son-in-law, Les Svatosch of Lisbon; one daughter-in-law, Joan Driscoll of Carrollton, Texas; one brother, Bob Wethington; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Wethington, and Marge Wethington; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Aleen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald; one son, John Driscoll, one daughter, Joan Svatosch; two sisters, Lucile and Bessie, and one brother, Russell Wethington.
