Read More	Cedar Rapids Gazette (Online), Jan 22, 2008 Bessie Crock Bessie Kathryn Wethington Crock, 93, of Mechanicsville, died Monday January 21, 2008 in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids of complications from a stroke. Bessie was born at home in Clementsville, Kentucky to Harry and Ollie Clements Wethington and moved to Iowa when she was 5 years old. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1933, and later taught in country schools. In 1938, she married Francis J. Crock at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tipton and moved to a farm near Mechanicsville. She was a homemaker and enjoyed life on the farm. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mechanicsville. She belonged to St. Mary's Guild and taught C.C.D. for many years. She is survived by her husband Francis, a daughter, Jeanette Crock Bagley of Indianapolis, and a son, Duane Crock and his wife Judy of Cedar Rapids, ten grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren, a sister Aleen Driscoll of Mechanicsville, and a brother Robert Wethington of Tipton. Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, her son James Crock and wife Della, also a brother Russell Wethington and a sister Lucile Driscoll, both of Tipton. She liked to cook and sew, and spend time playing cards with her friends. Bessie loved her faith, family, and friends. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon Chapel. A rosary begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by a wake service. Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mechanicsville, by the Reverend Andrew Kelly. The burial is at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bessie's honor may be made to: Hospice of Mercy, Oldorf Hospice House, 315 8th Ave., Hiawatha, Iowa 52233.
