She was born on May 13, 1936, in El Dorado, the daughter of Irvin and Jessie (Prather) Jones. She was raised in Greenwood County and attended local schools. Read More	Obituary for Mary Alice Evenson Mary Alice Evenson, of Eureka, died on Friday, March 4, 2011, at Wesley Medical Center, in Wichita, at the age of 74. She was born on May 13, 1936, in El Dorado, the daughter of Irvin and Jessie (Prather) Jones. She was raised in Greenwood County and attended local schools. She later graduated from Emporia State Teacher's College. On June 2, 1957, she was united in marriage to Daryl Evenson in Eureka. Mary Alice went on to teach 2nd grade and Head Start in Eureka as well as substituting until her retirement in 2005. Mary Alice was a member of the Christian & Congregational Church, the Altrurian Club, P.E.O. and the Eureka Music Club. She is survived by her husband, Daryl of the home; two daughters, Marilynn Evenson of Coffeyville; and Sharyl Edmondson of Eureka; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Susan K. Evenson, one brother, and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 7, 2011 at Koup Family Funeral Home, in Eureka with Mr. Jayme A. Koup officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Mary Alice Evenson Scholarship Fund. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O.
