She passed from this life in the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 12, 1929, aged 73 years, 4 months and 7 days. She was the fifth child of Jacob D. and Nancy E. Clark. She passed from this life in the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 12, 1929, aged 73 years, 4 months and 7 days. She was the fifth child of Jacob D. and Nancy E. Clark. The family moved to Stone Creek and when she died, her children all of whom are living and were present at the funeral. They are Mrs. C. S. Watson of Gothenburg; C. A. Thomas of Valentine; L. B. Thomas of McCool; M. J. Thomas of McCook; R. A. Thomas of Grafton; Leoti of Winnetoon; Dr. H. C. Thomas of Bertrand; P. A. Thomas of McCook and C. E. Thomas of Denver. There are twenty-three grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. There also remain four brothers, Rev. M. S. Clark of Charlton, Ia.; Charles Clark of Ottumwa, Ia.; and Oscar Clark of Sheridan, Wyo.; and three sisters, Mrs. J. S. Carson, Mrs. E. Carson and Mrs. K. Wolverton all of Woodburn, Ia. Mr. Thomas was a soldier in the Civil War in the 15th Iowa Infantry, Company I, and was a member of the G. A. R., and Mrs. Thomas was a devoted member of the Women's Relief Corps in Fairmont until it disbanded and after that when possible she went to Geneva to attend the meetings and she was greatly pleased to be permitted to attend the national meeting at Denver last year. Mrs. Thomas had spent the winter past visiting in the homes of her children and had returned to her home in Fairmont May 24. She attended the memorial services at the Federated Church Sunday, May 26, and was at the cemetery for the Decoration Day services May 30, but was taken sick the following Sunday and continued to grow worse until the end came. She was conscious practically to the end and seemed so glad that her children could be with her. Funeral services were conducted at the late home in Fairmont, by Rev. W. F. Perry, D.D., pastor of the Federated Church, Thursday afternoon, June 13, and her body was laid beside that of her husband in the Fairmont Cemetery. Six of her sons were pallbearers, as they were at the burial of their father nine years ago. The Nebraska Signal June 1929 Daughter of Jacob D. and Nancy E.
