Read More	From The Red Deer Advocate, Wednesday, May 26, 1943, pg 1: Mrs. Neil McPhee Dies On Sunday Evening --- Mrs. Neil McPhee died in the Municipal Hospital on Sunday evening after an illness of several weeks. Her health had not been too good all winter, and she entered the hospital about three weeks ago. Mrs. McPhee was born near Mount Forest, Ontario, in June, 1863, and would have been in years old next month. She was married there to Mr. McPhee in 1891, and they had the pleasure of celebrating their golden wedding anniversary two years ago. They left for North Dakota later in 1891 and in 1893 they came to Edwell where they homesteaded on the old farm which is now occupied by their son, Neil J. McPhee, and which was their home until their removal to the Coast in 1922. They remained at the Coast until 1937 when they returned to Red Deer, where they have made their home ever since. Mrs. McPhee spent most of her time and strength in the service of her family, but she made many warm friends during her long residence in Edwell. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. In addition to Mr. McPhee, she leaves three daughters, Mrs. J.B. White and Mrs. A. Brereton of Red Deer, and Mrs. Jas. Hay of Elnora, and three sons, James A., Charles M., and Neil J., all of Edwell. There are twenty-one grandchildren and three great grandchildren. One brother in Ontario, and two sisters, one in Saskatchewan and one in Manitoba, also survive. They will have sympathy in their bereavement. Funeral services will be held from the Orme Funeral Home this (Wednesday) afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. ------ Daughter of Charles Gillies and Margaret Robb, both who were born in Ireland. LDS records
