Mary Ann Dallner's will (probate files Box #566, Henry County courthouse), was signed 7 April 1865 (shortly after the death of her son Cayton Scheffel) and "proofed" several years later, 13 August 1885. It gives $150 to each of her five grandchildren (children of Kaddamus/Cayton Shaffel, dec'd): Kaddamus, Anthony, Jacob, Mary Ann and the "child-not-yet-born". She had the "Gift" of "Second Sight" and could tell people where to find lost articles and animals. To-day her gift would be called Extra-Sensory Perception. Had she lived in the days of Cotton Mather, and in the same vicinity, her days might not have been so long in the land. Her home was south of Merrimac Mills. One of her husband's names was Fredrick.
