Wolfe, a pioneer resident of Carroll, died at the St. Anthony Hospital at 5:30 Saturday morning, the direct cause ofher death being uremic poisoning, with which she had been seriously ill for the last ten days. Wolfe, a pioneer resident of Carroll, died at the St. Anthony Hospital at 5:30 Saturday morning, the direct cause ofher death being uremic poisoning, with which she had been seriously ill for the last ten days. She had been cared for at the hospital since Tuesday morning. Mrs. Wolfe had attained the age of eighty-three years. Funeral services will be held at St.Joseph's Church at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning. Burial will be in the family lot in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Wolfe and her husband, the late T.C. Wolfe, were prominent pioneers of Carroll county. She was born Mary Ann James, daughter of Joseph and Cecilia Finnerty James, May 18 1856 on a farm eight miles from Berlin, Wis. Subsequently the family came to Poweshiek county, later settling in Roselle Township, Carroll county, in the year 1869. Feb. 14, 1874, she married T. C. Wolfe at Mt. Carmel. Mr.and Mrs. Wolfe lived on their farm near Templeton until 1883 when they moved into the town of Templeton. They came to Carrol lfrom Templeton on May 4, 1898 and Mrs. Wolfe has lived in her present home on North Main Street since that time. Mr. Wolfe died March 18, 1932. Mrs. Wolfe was the mother of nine children, two of whom preceded her in death. They were Mrs. Joseph H. Meyers (Ceclia) and Ella, who died in infancy. Surviving are: Maurice Wolfe, Jerome, Idaho; Thomas A. Wolfe, Lincoln, Neb.; Anna, Florence, Joseph J., Edmund and John Wolfe at home. Mrs. Wolfe also leaves seven grandchildren and one great-granchild. Her surviving brother and sisters are John James, Stuart; Mrs.R.E. Dargin, Neola and Mrs. Joseph Leonard, Atlantic. Two brothers, Joseph and David James have passed away.
