Read More	From the Dufferin County Museum Archives: Orangeville Sun, Date: 04 May 1905, Page: 3, Column: 2, Type: Obituary DEATH OF AN OCTOGENARIAN: Mrs. Carson, relict of the late Robert Carson, died at the residence of her son, Mr. William Carson of Toronto Junction, on Saturday morning at the ripe old age of 81 years and 4 months. Mrs. Carson was born in Ireland and her parents came to this country when she was only two months old. They settled in Albion township and later on moved to Amaranth, where they resided for many years. Her father was the late Thomas Langtry and was a typical pioneer; honest, thrifty and industrious. The late Mrs. Carson was a woman who endeared herself to all who came within the circle of her acquaintance. She was ever willing to assist a neighbor and many a stranger profited by her hospitality. Her husband predeceased her by several years and she has made her home since then with her only son, William, who formerly resided here. The deceased lady was a life-time member of the Presbyterian church and was greatly beloved by her numerous friends and acquaintances. Until a comparatively short time ago she enjoyed the best of health, but a cancer developed and steadily lowered her vitality and a week previous to her demise she was stricken with paralysis which hastened her death. The surviving members of her family are Mrs. Wm. Tindale, Amaranth; Mrs. W. Gray and Mrs. Hector Phillips, Burke's Falls; Mrs. Wm. Gray, Montreal West; Mrs. Ed. McKibbon, of Mono and Mr. William Carson, Toronto Junction. The remains were brought to Orangeville Monday morning and interment was made in Greenwood cemetery, her remains being laid beside those of her husband and parents. Rev. A. L. Burch conducted service at the grave. On Sunday evening Rev. G. C. Pidgeon held services at the house. The pallbearers were E. A. Robinson, William Tindale of Amaranth, Ed McKibbon and James Woodland of Mono, Robert Still of Shelburne and Thomas McKitrick. A large number of friends assembled at the station and accompanied the remains to their last resting place. The casket was covered with floral designs sent by sympathizing friends. **Note: Omitted from this obituary was a daughter, Eliza Phillips who was widowed at the time of her mother's death.
