Read More	Cedar Rapids Press (Cedar Rapids, Nebraska), December 17, 1964, p. 1, col. 5 Obituary of Mrs. Mary Mahoney Mrs. Mary Mahoney, a long-time resident of Nance and Boone County, died Monday, Dec. 7, 1964 in the Boone County hospital in Albion at the age of 90 years and 10 months. Mary Ann Manion, daughter of Jane and Joseph Manion, was born at Edwardsville, Ill. She was married to John Mahoney at Hemingford on Nov. 6, 1893. They moved to Nance county in 1902. In 1915 they moved to a farm near Cedar Rapids. They moved into Cedar Rapids in 1934 where she spent her remaining years, except the last two years which were spent at the Wolf Memorial home in Albion. To this union were born eight children: five sons, Arthur of Columbus, Charles of O'Neill, Walter, Maurice and John of Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Mary Van De Walle and Agnes Murname of Omaha and Josephine Wetovick of Kearney. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1943. She was a member of St. Anthony's Altar Society. Funeral services were held at St. Anthony's Catholic church Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. with Father Ralph O'Donnell officiating with Donald Mahoney, a grandson, as commentator. The Requiem Mass was sung by St. Anthony's choir with Mrs. Donna Cook as organist. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Harold, Gene, Tom and Mike Mahoney, Maurice VanDeWalle and Mike Murname. Burial was in St. Anthony's cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1953; also one sister, three brothers and one granddaughter. Besides all of her children, she is survived by 53 grandchildren, 94 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Attending her services were all of her children, 40 of the grandchildren and some of the great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends from a distance attended from Alliance, Kearney, Omaha, Columbus, O'Neill, Schuyler, Grand Island, Inman and all the communities around Cedar Rapids; also from Denver, Colo., Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Kansas.
