Description	:	AUGUST, 1900 (obit from old scrapbook) DIED. SWEINHART. In Tipton, Iowa, July 30, 1900, Mrs. Mary A. Sweinhart, aged 72 years, 4 months and 5 days. Mrs. Sweinhart was born in Montgomery county, Pa. She was married to Mr. Sweinhart in 1845 and lived in New Berlin, Pa., until 1862, when the family came to this place. In her death and the breaking up of the home of the old and familiar landmarks of Tipton is gone. SWEINHART. In Tipton, Iowa, July 30, 1900, Mrs. Mary A. Sweinhart, aged 72 years, 4 months and 5 days. Mrs. Sweinhart was born in Montgomery county, Pa. She was married to Mr. Sweinhart in 1845 and lived in New Berlin, Pa., until 1862, when the family came to this place. In her death and the breaking up of the home of the old and familiar landmarks of Tipton is gone. We voice the unanimous sentiment of the community in saying Mrs. Sweinhart was a woman of high christian character, an excellent neighbor and friend. She spent her life in unselfish ministry to others. In the sphere of church and home she wrought a work that makes her memory blessed. As the pastorate of the Reformed church became vacant July 1, Rev. G. D. Gurley, former pastor and intimate personal friend of the family, conducted the service. After the service in the church--the church she loved so much and helped so untiringly many years--a large concourse of people preceded to the cemetery, where-all that was mortal was sacredly laid to rest in the silent city.
