Boynton, who made her home with her daughter, Mrs. P.L.Hayzlett, passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 9, at 2:30 o'clock from senility, at the age of 95 years, 10 months and 15 days. She had been confined to her bed for nine weeks. Funeral services will be held this (Friday) morning at 10 o'clock at the home, 1209 Corning St. after which the remains will be taken to LaPorte City, to be laid at rest beside those of her husband in West View cemetery. Rev. Carl A. Glover will read the funeral service and singing will be by Mrs. R.D. Morris. Those who will act as pall bearers are Frank Beeson, Gemmel Brown, Harry Patty, P.B. Hayzlett (Paul) , P.L.Hayzlett (Paris) and Karl Boll. Those here from out of town for the funeral are Mrs. C.M. Unger and two children of Marshalltown. Mary Ann Tomlinson was born in New York state on Aug. 24, 1828, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Tomlinson. She was married at Keisville, N.Y., July 18, 1850 to Sam'l F. Boyton (sic), who preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1901. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Laureth McPhail, of Davenport and Mrs. P.L. Hayzlett, of Red Oak, one brother, one sister, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren: The grandchildren are Mrs. C.M. Unger of Marshalltown, Mrs. L.B. Holt of Cleveland, Ohio R.B. McPhail of Davenport, M.K. McPhail of Muscatine, Mrs. H.S.Lambertson of Minneapolis, Mrs. Walter Coon of Moline, Ill. and Paul B. Hayzlett of Red Oak. Mrs. Boynton moved to Iowa in 1863 and lived at LaPorte City until 1908, when she moved to Marshalltown to make her home with Mrs. Hayzlett. In 1914 she moved to Red Oak with her daughter. Mrs. Boynton was a remarkable woman. At her great age she retained her faculties until the last. She took a great interest in the affairs of young people and numbered many among her friends. She was a companionable person, a good conversationalist, a loving mother and a good friend. Her passing will be felt by all who knew her." Boynton to be Interred Here. Was Resident of this City for Many Years. A message was received here this morning telling of the death of Mrs. F.S. Boynton a former resident of La Porte City. Mrs. Boynton made her home with her daughter Mrs. P. L. Hayzlett in Red Oak, Ia. The remains will arrive here Friday evening and will be interred in the family lot in West View Saturday morning with a short prayer service at the grave. Rev T.E. Sherman pastor of the Presbyterian church will officiate. The deceased would have been ninety six years old next month. Mr. and Mrs. Boynton established their home in this place in an early day and for years. Mr. Boynton conducted a drug store. He passed away suddenly more than twenty five years ago after which time she has made her home with her daughter Mrs. Hayzlett. The Hayzlett family moved to Marshalltown from here and later went to Red Oak, the deceased remaining with them in both places. A few years ago Mrs. Boynton fractured her hip in a fall and for a long time was confined to her bed but the last friends here knew, she was able to get about the house but was very lame. Mr. and Mrs. Boynton were the parents of three daughters, Mrs. McVeigh who preceded her mother in death, Mrs. McPhail and Mrs. Hayzlett." Same paper 1 Jan 1925 notes that Mrs. F.S.
