(Faimon) Mazour, daughter of John and Annastasia (Juranek) Faimon, was born on a farm near Lawrence, Nebraska, on February 4, 1908, and passed away in the Asbury Hospital in Salina, Kansas, on December 17, 1988, at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 13 days. Mary grew up on a farm southeast of Deweese. On August 17, 1926, at St. Martin's (Louchey) Catholic Church near Deweese, she was united in marriage to Lester V. Mazour. This union was blessed with two sons, Jerome D. and Adrian C. They lived on a farm northwest of Oak for many years. Her husband, Lester, passed away January 2, 1961. She then moved to Nelson where she was making her home at the time of her death. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 42 years, and was active in many church organizations and affairs. Mary's favorite pastimes were playing pinochle and pitch, reading, working crossword puzzles and watching people dance. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lester; two brothers, Albert and Edward Faimon; and a grandson, Adrian. She is survived by her sons, Jerome D. and his wife Betty Mazour of Nelson, and adrian C. and his wife Connie of Norfolk; a sister Alice Kalvoda of Hastings; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A rosary service was held Monday, December 19, 7:30 p.m. at the Klawitter-Price Funeral Chapel in Nelson, Nebraska. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 20, 1988, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nelson. Father Frank Machovec officiated. Music was provided by the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Choir with James Spirk or organist and accompanist. Casketbearers were Richard Mazour, Daniel Mazour, M.D., John Mazour, Donald Mazour, Greg Lohaus, and Don Biltoft. Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Mazour, Chris Mazour, and Tim Mazour. Burial was in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery, Lawrence, Nebraska. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson was in charge of arrangements.
