Pallbearers were Francis Lindholm, Harold Peterson, Harold Copple, Milbourn Gustin, June Lundgren and Bill Reil. Belva Blank was born June 24, 1882 near Botna, Ia. Her parents were Wesley J. Kelley and Medora Ann Wood Kelley. She lived near Botna, Iowa until she was 13, when the family moved to a farm near Lyons. There she attended school and later married Willis Frederick Blank, Jan. 17, 1900. To this union eight children were born, the first dying in infancy. They farmed near Lyons for about six years before moving to Thurston County, where they farmed until 1911. Then they moved into Rosalie. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 18, 1946, by her sons, Guy on Nov. 2, 1971 and Willis on Nov. 23, 1968. She is survived by sons, Carl of Winnebago, Ralph of Portland, Ore., Roy of Rosalie; daughters, Mrs. Hilda Sohl of Ashland, Mrs. Elva Sublet of Rosalie; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Ross, LaJunta, Colo.; 16 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. ~~~~~~~~ The following obituary notice was published in The Pender Times, Thursday, November 23, 1978, page 12 Mrs. Willis Blank Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 18, at United Methodist Church in Rosalie for Mrs. Willis Blank, 96. Burial was at the Lyons Cemetery. Mrs. Blank, the former Mary Belva Kelley, was born at Botna, Ia., on June 24, 1882, and she died on Nov. 15. On Jan. 17, 1900 she married Willis Blank at Lyons. Her husband died in early 1946. Mrs. Blank is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elva Sublet of Rosalie and Mrs. Hilda Sohl of Ashland, and by three sons, Roy of Rosalie, Carl of Winnebago and Ralph of Portland, Ore. Also surviving are a sister, Fannie Ross of La Junta, Colo., 15 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers for her funeral were Frances Lindholm, Harold Peterson, Harold Copple, Milbourne Gustin, June Lundgren and Bill Reil. Officiating at the service was the Rev. Carr Hume.
