Willis Frederick Blank, son of Jacob and Emma (Carees) Blank was born October 6, 1877, in Champagne county, Illinois and died January 18, 1946 in St. Joseph Hospital at Sioux City, Iowa, at age 66 years, 3 months and 12 days.. As a young man he came to Nebraska, with his Father, following the death of his Mother and settled near Lyons, Nebraska.. On January 17, 1900 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Belva Kelley at Lyons, Nebraska. They resided in that vicinity until 1911, at which time they moved to Rosalie and have made their home here, with the exception of two years, 1930 and 1932 at Bloomfield, Nebraska where he operated a truck line.. To this union eight children were born: Hilda, Mrs. Don Tadlock, of Ashland, Nebraska; Guy, of Kenesaw, Nebraska; Carl of Winnebago, Nebraska, Ralph of Portland, Oregon; Elva, Mrs. Al Sublet and Willis both of Rosalie, T/S Sgt. Roy, of the U. S. Army, a son died in infancy.. When Mr. Blank came to Rosalie, he was employed in the Hardware store, later working as a well digger, contributing his efforts to the beginning of the new town. He served as village marshal, being the chairman at the time of his demise.. Besides his widow and seven children, left to mourn are 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, a brother Rennie Blank of Vancouver, Washington and a sister Mrs. Edith White of Los Angeles, California. published in local Rosalie, Thurston Co., Nebraska newspaper, January 1946
