Langel, 80, of Templeton, died Wednesday, April 4, at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha. Read More	From the April 5, 1984, edition of the Carroll (IA) Times Herald Mrs. Mary C. Langel TEMPLETON -- Mrs. Mary C. Langel, 80, of Templeton, died Wednesday, April 4, at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha. Rite of the Christian Burial will be concelebrated at 1 pm Saturday, April 7, at Sacred Heart church in Templeton with the Rev. Joseph Steib and the Rev. Msgr. Dean Walker as celebrants. A nephew, Ron Langel, will be lector; mass-servers will be Craig Langel, Tom Broich and David Langel and giftbearers will be grandchildren Sheryl Naas, Jean Broich, Patti Bendgen, Lisa Langel, Lori Broich, Joni Langel, Nancy Schettler, Nick Langel, Bill Langel and Allen Broich. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Serving as casket bearers will be Stan Broich, Rick Langel, Dan Schettler, Chris Langel, Jim Langel and Ron Schettler. Rosaries will be recited at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning at 3 and 8:45 pm and a scriptural prayer service will be conducted at 8 pm on Friday. Mrs. Langel is survived by her husband, Joseph Langel, Templeton; the following children: Mrs. Tom M. (Yvonne) Broich, Carroll, Mrs. Clayton (Bernita) Broich, Carroll, LaVern Langel and his wife Lovetta, Templeton, Edna Schettler and her husband Dan, Council Bluffs, and Elmer Langel and his wife Imelda, Manning; 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Minnie Tigges, Carroll, Conrad Bauer, Willey, Mrs. Regina Wiskus, Dedham, Mrs. Theresa Wiskus, Dedham,Herman Bauer, Willey, Mrs. Lambert (Lena) Reicks, Scranton, and Melvin Bauer, Carroll. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Max, John and Clarence. Mrs. Langel was born December 9, 1903, at Willey, a daughter of John B. and Anna Venteicher Bauer. She attended St. Mary's school in Willey and on April 29, 1930, was married to Joseph A. Langel at St. Mary church in Willey with the Rev. H.J. Dries officiating. After their marriage they lived on a farm near Templeton until 1969 when they moved into Templeton. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on April 29, 1980. She was a member of Sacred Heart parish, the Ladies Guild and Confraternity.
