MacIver suffered a fatal heart attack at her home about 9:23 o'clock last night and was pronounced deceased on arrival across the street at Newport Hospital where she had been taken by the fire department rescue wagon. MacIver suffered a fatal heart attack at her home about 9:23 o'clock last night and was pronounced deceased on arrival across the street at Newport Hospital where she had been taken by the fire department rescue wagon. Mrs. MacIver was born in Newport, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Melville and was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in which she was active for many years. She leaves a step-son, Dr. Alister MacIver of Wickford, formerly of Newport and Jamestown and a step grandson, John MacIver of Boston. Her husband who died in March 1951, was a buyer for 60 years for the Boston Store until his retirement in 1950. Private services were conducted at the Hambly Funeral Home by Rev. William J. Clark, First Presbyterian Church pastor. Burial followed in the Island Cemetery.
