Neihardt, daughter of Isaac and Catherine Neihardt, was born at La Porte, Indiana, Oct. 5, 1858, and passed away at her home in Oxford, Nebraska, March 26, 1945, at the age of 86 years, 5 months and 21 days. During the Civil War, her father served his country as a captain and the family was stationed at various camps in the south. Neihardt, daughter of Isaac and Catherine Neihardt, was born at La Porte, Indiana, Oct. 5, 1858, and passed away at her home in Oxford, Nebraska, March 26, 1945, at the age of 86 years, 5 months and 21 days. During the Civil War, her father served his country as a captain and the family was stationed at various camps in the south. At the close of the war they lived in Little Rock, Arkansas, where she attended school. In her early teens she moved with her parents to Seward, Nebraska. She was married to James Alpha Divan, June 17, 1878. They resided on a farm near Seward until the family moved to Oxford in January, 1907. Her husband passed away August 20, 1914. She leaves to cherish her memory her seven children: Mrs. Mae Reynolds of Seward, Walter of Hastings, Fay of Elm Creek, Roy of Albion, Mrs. Bonnie Balliet, Graco and Hazel of Oxford; an only sister, Mrs. Emma Rucksdashel; one nephew and two nieces of Seward; two sons-in-law; two daughters-in-law, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Methodist church in Oxford but of late years she has been unable to attend services. Until recent months, however, she never missed a Sunday morning service on her radio. Funeral services were held at the Lyon's Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon, with Rev. Leon Foster officiating. Interment was in the Oxford cemetery.
