Beck, after a lingering illness of several months. Mrs. Hursh was born in Fairfield, Ohio June 12, 1814, and was married to Mr. A.J. Hursh the first day of Dec. 1836. She made her home in Ohio until 1845 when she moved to Indiana, and in the fall of 1854, she moved to Bremer county, Iowa, which has been her home for the past 45 years. Mrs. Hursh was the mother of 12 children, 8 of whom survive her: Mrs. C. G. Spears of Waterloo, Iowa, Mrs. C. Chittester of Waverly, Iowa, Mr. Sam Hursh of Stotts City, Missouri, Mr. D. R. Hursh of Harrison, Ark., Mrs. S. C. Beck of Waverly, Ia., Rev Andrew Hursh of Colesburg, Ia., Mr George Hursh of Waverly, Ia., Mr. Will Hursh of Sumner, Ia. Three daughters have gone before, also one son who gave his life in defense of his county. Mrs. Hursh joined the M.E. church at the age of 21 and has been a faithful follower of her Christ for the past 64 years. She died at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 29 days. Funeral services was held at the home of Mrs. S. C.
