Description	:	OBIT: Mrs. Mary Poull Gehlen, a well-known and long-time Kittitas Valley resident, died here last night following a short illness at the age of 91 years and 9 months. A resident of the valley since 1903, Mrs. Gehlen had been active until the past few days. She won several awards at the 1956 Kittitas County Fair for her needlework exhibits. Read More	OBIT: Mrs. Mary Poull Gehlen, a well-known and long-time Kittitas Valley resident, died here last night following a short illness at the age of 91 years and 9 months. A resident of the valley since 1903, Mrs. Gehlen had been active until the past few days. She won several awards at the 1956 Kittitas County Fair for her needlework exhibits. Mrs. Genlen was born in Port Washington, Wis., May 4, 1965. She was married in Chicago, Nov. 18, 1890 to N. W. Gehlen and they came to the Kittitas Valley in 1903 and settled on a farm on what is now Airport Road. A part of the Gehlen place now is the W. D. Strong farm. The family resided there until after Mrs. Gehlen's death in Feb. 5, 1909. Mrs. Gehlen was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and the St. Andrew's Altar Society. Surviving are five sons, Dr. J. N. Gehlen of St. Paul, V. B. Gehlen of Seattle, L. J. Gehlen and Paul Gehlen, both of Ellensburg, and W. R. Gehlen of Los Angeles; one daughter, Mrs. B. J. Wilms of Los Angeles; a sister, Dr. Louise Poull of New York City, and 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Requiem mass will be said Thursday at 9 a.m. at St. Andrew's Church. Rosary will be said Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Evenson Chapel. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Ellensburg Daily Record, November 5, 1956
