Description	:	Died 8:00, August 22, 1979, of congestive heart, Mrs. Mary Edenfield in her 91st year of her age. This remarkable woman was born in Dover, in the state of Delaware and was married there and then moved to Highland County, Ohio, where her husband died. Then she lived for a few years in Illinois and Missouri, but for the last 20 years or over, she lived in this vicinity. Read More	Died 8:00, August 22, 1979, of congestive heart, Mrs. Mary Edenfield in her 91st year of her age. This remarkable woman was born in Dover, in the state of Delaware and was married there and then moved to Highland County, Ohio, where her husband died. Then she lived for a few years in Illinois and Missouri, but for the last 20 years or over, she lived in this vicinity. She was the mother of 8 children, all these died before her except one, the youngest, who is supposed to be living in California. After the death of her husband, she lived with her children, and after their death, with her grandchildren. There are now living 35 grandchildren and over 30 great great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren. Thus she was permitted several years before her death to greet the fifth generation. Her hearing and eye sight were perfectly good to the last day of her life. She never used glasses, she was a hard working woman all her life time, strong and healthy and even she did some work the day she died. She was a good reader of the bible and had strong faith in prayer. She died praying to God for mercy and grace. Blessed are dead who die in the Lord. There are probably very few if any on record, who have lived this long and whose faculties were so perfect and who knew so little abut the ills of the flesh as Mrs. Edenfield. She was in this respect, no doubt the most remarkable woman on record. Her funeral services were held August 23, the Rev. J. T. Jones of Villisca officiating.
