Description	:	Mary Degel Radach, 92, of Yakima, WA former Lower Valley resident, went to be in the arms of her Savior on Wednesday, November 7, 2012. Mary was born on September 6, 1920 in Mott, North Dakota the daughter of John and Barbara (Meyer) Degel. She received her early education in North Dakota. Read More	Mary Degel Radach, 92, of Yakima, WA former Lower Valley resident, went to be in the arms of her Savior on Wednesday, November 7, 2012. Mary was born on September 6, 1920 in Mott, North Dakota the daughter of John and Barbara (Meyer) Degel. She received her early education in North Dakota. On May 3, 1941 she married Aron Radach in Baker, Montana. Following their marriage they made their home near Mott, North Dakota where he raised wheat for twenty years. In 1959 the Radach family moved to Sunnyside where he owned and operated an orchard and trucked fruit to North Dakota. Following her husband retirement in 1978, Aron and Mary moved to Yakima and started to enjoy traveling in their motor home, spending eight winters in Arizona and California. Aron passed away in 1993 and Mary was able to stay in her home until 2010, she spent her last years residing at Sun Tower Retirement Center in Yakima, WA. Mary enjoyed going to church, reading, doing word puzzles, visiting and reminiscing with family and friends about the early years in North Dakota. She was known for her delicious German Chocolate Cake, mouth watering fried chicken and pigs in a blanket (German Cabbage Rolls). She attended the Home Missionary Church in Sunnyside, Stone Assembly of God and Terrace Assembly of God in Yakima, WA. Mary is survived by her one son, Larry Radach (DeeAnn) of Chehalis, WA; three daughters, Darlene Currin of Yakima, WA, Phyllis Spurbeck (Victor) of Lynnwood, WA and Faye Roberts (Gil) of Phoenix, AZ. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren, two brothers, John Degel Jr. of Chico, CA and Tony Degel of Magalia, CA. She is preceded in death by her husband, Aron; two sisters, Anna Holecheck and Betty Fiedler and one brother, Peter Degel. Viewing and visitation will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Terrace Heights Assembly of God Church Missions Fund c/o 4101 Maple Ave. Yakima, WA. 98901.
