Description	:	Mary Devasse Smmots was born at White Cloud, Ind., July 18, 1883. She died at her home west of Fairmont on Wednesday afternoon, February 10, 1926, aged 42 years, 8 months and 22 days. Miss Smoots grew to womanhood at White Cloud. She attended the normal school at Carydon, Ind., but had to leave school at an early age because of ill health. Read More	Mary Devasse Smmots was born at White Cloud, Ind., July 18, 1883. She died at her home west of Fairmont on Wednesday afternoon, February 10, 1926, aged 42 years, 8 months and 22 days. Miss Smoots grew to womanhood at White Cloud. She attended the normal school at Carydon, Ind., but had to leave school at an early age because of ill health. She was married to Leon Davis at Moberly, Ind., November 24, 1904. One of their five children, Blanche Rosalla, died at Fairmont in infancy. The children living are Julius Willard, Phillips Gordon, Cecil Clifton and Irene Isabel. Mr. and Mrs. Davis came to Fairmont in 1905 and have made their home here since that time. Mrs. Davis was a member of the United Brethren church at Blue River chapel, near White Cloud, Ind. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. V.C. Wright at the Methodist church Friday afternoon, February 12. Burial was in the Fairmont cemetery. Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband and four children; her mother, Mrs. Rose Smoots of New Middletown; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Simms of New Middletown; two brothers, Raymond Smoots of Monroe, Neb., and Richard Smoots of White Cloud, Ind.
