Description	:	Oscar Leon, son of Pleasant Willard and Nanna Belle Davis, was born on a farm near Ramsey, Indiana on May 21, 1880, and died at his home in Fairmont on August 11, 1950, at the age of 70 years, two months and 20 days. He grew to manhood in Indiana and joined the Methodist church in Moberly. On November 24, 1904, he was married to Miss Mary DeVosse Smoots. Read More	Oscar Leon, son of Pleasant Willard and Nanna Belle Davis, was born on a farm near Ramsey, Indiana on May 21, 1880, and died at his home in Fairmont on August 11, 1950, at the age of 70 years, two months and 20 days. He grew to manhood in Indiana and joined the Methodist church in Moberly. On November 24, 1904, he was married to Miss Mary DeVosse Smoots. The following year they moved to Fairmont and established their home. Five children were born to them, Blanche Rosalia, who died in infancy, Julius Willard of North Platte; Phillip Gordon of San Bernardino, Cal., Cecil Clifton and Irene Isabel of Fairmont. Mr. Davis was a loving husband and father and gave devotedly of his time and tender care to his young wife, who was afflicted for many years. Mrs. Davis was called to rest on February 10, 1926, and it was then that he became bother mother and father to his young children and continued in love and council until the time of his death. Besides his children, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Blanche Stonecipher of Chappell and six grandchildren, Carol Lee and Dayle Raymond (Jim) Horner and Richard Wiilard, Norman Gayle, Norris Jean and Donna Joyce Davis. Funeral services were held in Grace Methodist church on Sunday after noon at 2:30, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Norman Smitheram. Two songs were sung by Oliver Moul, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. A. P. Stewart. Interment in the Fairmont cemetery. Fillmore Chronicle (Fairmont) August 17th, 1950 page 1.
