Mary Duffy was born in Indianapolis, Ind., December 22, 1850, and had been a resident of this city for over forty years. She was united in marriage to Andrew Buckley in DeWitt and then came to this city at that time and Mr. Buckley served as justice of the peace for many years, preceding Mrs. Buckley in death ten years ago. Mrs. Buckley was a faithful member of St. Mary's church and affiliated with its societies and activities during her years of active service. She was a devoted mother, who is truly mourned by four daughters and five sons. Surviving are her daughters, Mrs. D. E. Golden of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. W. J. Houlihan of Clinton, Sister Mary Perpetua of Chicago and Miss May at home; five sons, John, Andrew and William of Clinton, David of Chicago and Martin at home; also three sisters, Mrs. John Crowley of Welton, Mrs. Cecilia Crowley of Sioux City and Mrs. William Frederick of Ord, Neb.; two brothers, James Duffy of Litchfield, Minn., and Martin of Chicago; and twelve grandchildren. Here from out of the city are Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Golden of Kansas City, Sister Mary Perpetua and Sister Mary Ildephonse of Chicago and Mrs. John Crowley of Welton. George Volz, celebrant assisted by Rev. James Kissane and Rev. Father Thoman. Mrs. Harry Shields was the soloist with "At Dawning" the selection sung during the Absolution. Attending the casket were Edwin Duffy, Matthew Duffy, James Crowley, John Buckley, Frank Houlihan and Ross Isenhart. Relatives and friends from out of the city were Mrs. John Crowley, Vincent and Martin Crowley, Matthew Duffy, Mike Hughes, Dick Hughes, John Coffey, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sullivan of Welton, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cavangh of Delmar, Mr. and Mrs. Tim Crowley, Mr. and Mrs. F.
