Born July 29, 1854 in Kirkland County, Ohio, Mrs. King was the youngest child of Alexander and Mary Palmer Davie. She came to the vicinity of Clarinda with her parents when she was 9 months of age and lived there until 14 years olf. The family then moved to the Cramer Chapel neighborhood southwest of Villisca where Mrs. King grew to womanhood. On December 23, 1879, she married Taylor King of Essex and to this union were born three children, Roy, Mrs. Irma Reynolds of Villisca, and Mrs. Ruth Arbuckle of Tuscon, Arizona, all of whom survive. Mr. King died in 1916. Also surviving are four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mrs. King had lived in Villisca 31 years. Villisca Review, Thursday, March 23, 1939, page 1
