Read More	On Monday, April 28, at 4 o'clock p.m., Mrs. Mary E. Little, aged 45 years, 4 months and 26 days, was called to the better world, and though she left many to mourn her loss bitterly, yet with her all was well. She passed "through the valley of the shadow" without a tremor of fear, willing and full of the soul comforting assurance of her reward. Christ beckoned, and with a bright smile, she stepped into the boar which was to bear her "over the river,' and gave cheerful obedience to the summons. The grief of the loved ones left behind is deprived of much of its poignancy by the blessed memory of her many virtues, her amiable disposition, the purity of her life and the Christian fortitude that so sustained and and comforted her that she bore her cross of suffering of many years duration so lightly that a radiance of sunshine seemed constantly about her. She never spoke ill of another. Her living heart was incapable of harsh feeling and from her lips fell words of kindness only. Mary E. Marshall was born December 2, 1844. On December 10, 1862, she was united in marriage with James H. Little in Washington county, Ohio. But two years followed when she was taken ill, and from that time until she was called away--more than twenty-five years--she had been a confirmed invalid. For more than ten years she was confined to her bed, and for six years she was unable to walk and was carried about in he husband's arms. In 1875, they oved to this county and settled on the farm where she died. Her health improved, and for the next six or seven years she had been so much better that it was thought she had nearly recovered, but last fall her lungs became affected, consumption followed and in a few months brought the grim reaper. For more than thirty years she had been a consistent member of the Baptist church as a Christian in the fullest interpretation of the term. The funeral services were held on Wednesday at 10 o'clock a.m. at the home near this city which was filled to overflowing with sympathizing friends, and were conducted by Rev. T.W. Cole. The speaker gave words of kindly admonition and exhortation and paid a touching tribute to the memory of the deceased, after which the funeral cortege took its solemn way to the cemetery, where the final rites were observed, and all that was mortal of the dear one was laid in its last resting place, the "silent city." The attendance was very large and testified in some measure to the high esteem in which the deceased was held in the community. She leaves two little boys and a grief stricken husband, whose chief efforts in life have been given with an untiring and loving hand to smooth the rugged pathway and bring joy and gladness to one who was dearly loved, and whose departure has left but a sweet memory of an affectionate mother and wife to fill an aching void.
