Description	:	James H. Little died at his home in this city, Wednesday, September 16, after an illness covering several weeks, aged 66 years, five months and thirteen days. The cause of death is given as a complication of stomach and liver disorder. Deceased was born in Hampshire county, Vermont, April 3, 1837, moved to Peoria county, Illinois in 1853, to Iowa in 1855, back to Illinois in 1856 and again to Iowa in 1860. Little died at his home in this city, Wednesday, September 16, after an illness covering several weeks, aged 66 years, five months and thirteen days. The cause of death is given as a complication of stomach and liver disorder. Deceased was born in Hampshire county, Vermont, April 3, 1837, moved to Peoria county, Illinois in 1853, to Iowa in 1855, back to Illinois in 1856 and again to Iowa in 1860. In 1861 he was immersed as a member of the Baptist church, and in 1862 was married to Miss Mary E. Marshal, to which union two children were born, John Edwin and Charles Henry, both of whom survive. Mr. Little and family came to Fillmore county in 1873, and located on a farm about two and one-half miles south of Fairmont. The wife, Mary E., died there April 28, 1890. Mr. Little was married to Miss Minnie Eshleman of this place July 24, 1895, who survives him together with three children, Mary, James and David. The funeral occurred Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, from the home, under the auspices of the Masonic lodge of which deceased was a member. Rev. Ira McConaughy had charge of the services and interment was made in the Fairmont cemetery. Many Mason and others were in attendance from Geneva and other county towns. Mr. Little, having been a pioneer, possessed a wide circle of friends and acquaintances, who were present to pay a last tribute to his memory. He owned a large farm which he left about three years ago to move into town, and considerable property in Fairmont which was considered a good investment.
