The young lady was taken ill last Thursday and Saturday was removed to Hastings, where the operation was performed as above stated, with the attendant loss of the young lady's life. At the hour of going to press arrangements for the funeral have not been made and the Leader will reserve until next week a more extended memoria to a young woman beloved and admired by all who knew her. LATER: Funeral cortege will leave the home at 9 o'clock and the services at the Catholic church at 10 o'clock. ("Blue Hill Leader" newspaper dated May 14, 1920 on page 5) The ringing of the telephoine in the early morning of May 6th, spread like a flash and brought the sad news that the inexorable hand of death had knocked again at the door of a very happy family and by taking away the only ever blooming flower, left sorrow and desolation in its stead. Adams county, Webster county and surroundings were taken aghast and the woesome hush was broken by the sorrowful murmur--"Mary Sadilek is dead." Mary Sadilek took suddenly ill April 29th and not withstanding the care of the worshiping parents and skill of prominent doctors, slept away under the anasthetic of the second operation for appendicitis, never to wake again, till the day when the Lord will come to judge the living and the dead. Miss Mary Sadilek was born in Red Cloud, March 15, 1899; became a child of the catholic church and as such, since her tender years, learned to love God, to venerate and honor her father and mother, and to love and respect her neighbors, to whom she revealed her sterling character of obedient and dutiful daughter, of true friend, with winning but truly sincere and innocent manners. She received her intellectual education in the primary schools of Webster county and when her parents moved to the farm northwest of Blue Hill, she was placed under the vigilant and zealous care of the good sisters of the Immaculate Conception Academy, in Hastings, where she graduated with praise and admiration in May, 1919. When the long funeral train arrived sixteen girls dressed in white, escorted her body to the sanctuary of the Catholic church, which was crowded to its upmost capacity, by relatives and friends, who came to mourn her departure, by paying the last tribute of respect to her and of condolence to the afflicted parents. High requium mass was sung touchingly by the Holy Trinity choir, composed of Katie Kick, organist; Mr. Duncan, Mr. and Mrs. Arnoldy, Frank Meintie, Miss Simpson, Margret Georig, Elise Huppert, Lillie Glebe, Agnes Arterburn and Ferdinand Peisiger, thus showing their respect to the departed one, who became a member of the same choir in July, 1919. The interment took place in the Blue Hill cemetery, ably conducted by the well known and accredited firm of Mr. P. Merten & Son. Through the favor of The Leader, we beg to convey our sympathy to the sorrowing father and mother--Mr. and Mrs. F. P. Sadilek exhorting them not to grieve as those who have no hope, for their daughter has only taken the long sleep of the just, who will rise in the Lord, to receive the ever beautiful and immaculate crown.
