Description	:	Mary E. Crawford was born near Earlham, Ia., Sept. 6, 1856 and died at her home in St. Edward, Dec. 13, 1933, aged 77 years, 3 months and 7 days. Her marriage to David Preble occurred on Dec. 5, 1882, and the young couple came to Nebraska the following spring. Mr. and Mrs. Preble were among the pioneers of this community, having resided in Boone and Nance county not far from St. Edward, ever since 1883. Crawford was born near Earlham, Ia., Sept. 6, 1856 and died at her home in St. Edward, Dec. 13, 1933, aged 77 years, 3 months and 7 days. Her marriage to David Preble occurred on Dec. 5, 1882, and the young couple came to Nebraska the following spring. Mr. and Mrs. Preble were among the pioneers of this community, having resided in Boone and Nance county not far from St. Edward, ever since 1883. They were a vital part of this community, raising their family and devoting their lives to the development of a new country. Mr. Preble passed away about four years ago at his home in St. Edward, where they had retired to live in comfort during their sunset years. Surviving Mrs. Preble are her five children, Mrs. Frank Spencer of Santa Cruz, Calif., Mitus Preble, at home at St. Edward, Mrs. George Kealy, west of St. Edward, Jesse Preble, Lincoln, and Mrs. Ralph Hazel, Belgrade. She also leaves to mourn her passing, ten grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Agnes Terry, Winterset, Iowa, Mrs. J. L. Rippey, Audubon, Iowa, J. W. Crawford, Perkins, Oklahoma, D. V. Crawford, Earlham. Iowa. None of the brothers or sisters were able to attend the funeral which was held on Thursday afternoon from the home, conducted by Rev. P. M. Simms. The children and their families however were all present. Burial was made in the family lot at the Evergreen cemetery.
