Obituary for Mary Elizabeth Eyler Humerick from the Frederick Post of Wednesday, November 29, 1989: "Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Eyler Humerick, 84, of 1 Locust Drive, Thurmont, died Monday, Nov. 27 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Raymond Alonza Humerick and was born Dec. 31, 1904, in Thurmont. She was a daughter of the late David Josiah Bushong and Susan McKissick Eyler. Mrs. Humerick was retired from Claire Frock, Thurmont, where she was employed for more than 20 years, retiring in 1970. She was a member of the Thurmont United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and the Thurmont Senior Citizens. She is the last of her immediate family. Surviving besides her husband are two nieces, Frances Eyler of Thurmont and Ethel Lawyer of Cumberland, and two nephews, Lee Griffee of Sykesville and Glenn Shank of Homosasse, Fla. Mrs. Humerick is at the Thurmont funeral home of Robert E. Dailey & Son, 615 E. Main St., where friends may call Wednesday, Nov. 29 from 1-9 p.m. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30 at the funeral home, with her pastor, the Rev. Kenneth C. Hamrick officiating. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery in Thurmont. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Thurmont United Methodist Church Building Fund, 13880 Long Road (P. O. Box 247), Thurmont, Md.,21788." Bearers were David Humerick, Michael Humerick, George Humerick Jr., Larry Humerick, Donald Lee Weddle, and Donald Weddle. Interment was in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont.
